You don’t wire heat cable. It’s just a gaint cable and at the end of it, is the plug.

One thing of heat cable is not enough, You need to do double maybe even triple layers enorder to heat the tubs enough.
Heat tape is the easy/best way to heat the tanks. This site (reptilebasics.com) will sell you heat tape and the clip/wire/insulator. Plus they will wire it for free.
