What are toys cockatiels like the most?
Do they like shreddable ones or ones they can climb or ones that has bells on it and so on.
I would say that the chew toys are not really popular with cockatiels, more with parrots… (conures, etc..) Cockatiels do like bells, especially when they are frustrated lol they like to attack them a little bit.. also, they do like mirrors.. and there are mirrors that you can record a word, etc.. I had two and they liked to sit by them (they have built in perches). On a side note, they also seem to LOVE what are called “birdy buddies” aka small fabric triangles without stuffing that you tie next to where they sleep.. it gives them comfort and they can snuggle their faces into them for security or to maintain their body temperature.. I would say, don’t waste a lot of money on the “bells and whistles” toys, they won’t really use them.. Also, I find that they love to have a ladder perch on top of their cage so they can sit up high… I would recommend something like this on top of their perch.. Also, you can set a “play perch” on top of gravel paper, which they like to chew and it also helps to keep their nails trimmed. I personally have never trimmed my birds’ wings or nails.. I just use gravel paper and perches that are designed to wear their nails down… Get to know your birds, they will let you know what they like : ) Hope this helps!
