Is it illegal to replace upvc tilt and turn wndows with single top opener windows?
I have been told by a window company rep that my upstairs tilt and turn windows are classed as fire exits and if i am to replace them, then it must be with a similar type of window, this is not what i want but he said it is the law.Is this right
Certainly a requirement in the UK for fire safety reasons, common sense really, I sure you wouldn’t want to be trapped in a room where you were unable to use the window to escape or to access a fireman’s ladder.
