It takes 5,000 points to earn Select or 10,000 points to earn Select Plus for a year. What’s the easiest and/or cheapest way to do this?
If you’re traveling on business, see if there is a restaurant rewards program. I seem to recall that the restaurant rewards program had good coverage on the Portland, OR to Seattle, WA high-speed Talgo train route.
Otherwise, there’s always an Amtrak miles Visa/MC card, some sharing between Amtrak and airline miles, etc.
