Is Exo Terra “Jungle Vine” product safe for tropical fish?
I saw some artificial Jungle Vine by Exo Terra ( http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/jungle_vines.php ) being sold at a pet shop, manufactured for reptile tanks. A realistic textured stem-like decoration, it can be bent and twisted into whatever shape you want, which is why this product appealed to me. However, the lady at the pet store couldn’t guarantee to me that it would be safe to put into tropical aquariums, as she was not sure if the material was harmful to fish or if it might alter the water chemistry. Before I buy, does anyone know if this item is safe for fish?
I doubt it
Stuff that is meant for fish tanks tends to have a hard varnish/glaze that stops anything leeching in to the water. If this stuff is bendy it can’t have that.
