Would this be a good green cheek cage?
I am getting a green cheek in a few weeks. Most websites recommend a cage that is at least 18″x18″. I am pretty strapped on cash right now, so I am looking for a nice starter cage to last me until I can afford to buy a nicer, larger cage. I found this cage at PetCo. It’s advertised for finches, but at 18″x30″, it is larger than pretty much all of the “cockatiel” cages I’ve found so far, and a lot cheaper. My green cheek conures cage measure 24″lx 24″wx 36″h and it seems to be the perfect size for him (granted he is only in his cage when no one is home). the cage in the link doesn’t seem tall enough. it should be OK for now, but i would definately invest in a bigger cage. you can usually find good deals for a cheap cage on craigslist.com if you don’t mind that they were used. i got mine from petco for about $80.
