I need to use SQL*Plus from Oracle Client Express 10g on my PC without server connection. How?
I installed Oracle Client Express 10g on my WindowsXP-based PC. I just need the SQL command interpreter to practice SQL. However, whenever I create and save a practice table it prompts me for a server connection. All I need is SQL*Plus on a stand alone PC. Please help. Thanks

Even I’d the same proble when I was installing Oracle 9i.
Then later on when running the setup of Oracle, it asked me to install Client or Personal edition of Oracle. You can try installing personal edition which will only be used to connect to your own database.
