Plastic Parakeet

Plastic Parakeet
How do I take care of a parakeet egg that the parents rejected?????

My pair of parakeets laid an egg and they rejected it and it sat at the bottom of the cage for awhile and the parents didn’t touch it.So i took it out how do i care for it properly?Right now it’s in a plastic cup with toilet paper on the bottom.Should i put it under a heating pad?
They never had a nest they just laid eggs on the cage floor.
also i don’t handle them very often, they abandoned it very early right after i put new paper towels in there then they moved it as far away from the paper towel as they could then would’nt touch it.

The female doesn’t normally start the incubation process (sitting on the egg) until she has laid the second egg. Eggs are usually laid one every other day, so the first egg might be left alone until the second egg arrives. There is no need to do anything at this stage – the birds know what they are doing. If it is the first egg, leave it be!
