What kind of cat would you suggest for living indoors in a small apartment?
My dear friend is moving into a one bed room apartment (downsizing) and wants to get a cat, which they allow. Letting it outdoors is not an option, and she is willing to buy a purebred. She will play with it, get it toys and a perch and scratching post but wonders if there is a breed that is known for being rather laid back and doesnt need a large home to run around in??? thank you.
I wouldn’t waste money on a purebred cat, since what you want is a cat with a friendly personality, and you can find those at almost any shelter.
Cats adapt to their surroundings, and with a cat tree, and a window to look out of, the cat will be more then happy. Besides, cats sleep most of the time anyway. I have multiple cats, and none go outside.
She might not want a very young kitten, simply due to their high energy level.
Oh, get one of those inexpensive cardboard scratchers; not all cats like a vertical post to scratch on. The vertical post can be part of the cat tree.
