How much do I charge a friend to take care of her two school age kids part time?
I take care of a little boy full time (about 7 hrs/day). I charge his parents 200/week. He’s under 2. My friend and neighbor has asked my to watch her 2 kids ages 5 and 8 part time (for the rest of the summer) and I have no idea what to charge her. Do I charge hourly since it’s part time, or flat rate? And what do I charge? She is a friend, so I want to take that into consideration, but I also want to be getting something out of the deal, otherwise I’ll feel taken advantage of. I just have no idea what the going rate is.
Are you going to be providing breakfast or lunch for the children? I say about $75/week if your feeding them. My mom used to do day care, and I think she would charge $140/week part time, $220/week full time with meals and snacks included.
