Is it safe to use pine branches in a parrot cage?
I want to put some branches from my pine tree in my parrot’s cage as a perch and want to be sure it is safe for my bird.
Not a good idea. Pine is not good to use either is any wild branches or leaves. Not advise also because of the bacteria on branches from outside along with the many parasites that may be on them. My friend once brought in some branches for her bird she even boiled water and poured on branches and used antibacterial soaps and the bird ended up withscalyy mites. I would just get some store bought perches in many shapes and sizes to be safe.
