I have 2blood parrot &1yellow parrot,1senegual bichir &7tiger bark in 3ft tank. Is It a right combination ? they are very young?
A 3 foot tank is typically around a 30-40 gallon tank, depending on the other dimensions. Next, the rule for freshwater tropicals is 1 inch of grown fish per 1 gallon of water. Parrots can grow to 8 inches. Senegal bichirs can grow to 12 inches. Tiger barbs can grow to 3 inches. So, you have 3 parrots x 8 inches= 24 inches. Bichir, 12 inches. 7 tiger barbs x 3 inches = 21 inches. 24+12+21=57 inches. You are overstocked for one thing. Also, bichir eat live fish as their primary source of food. Your tiger barbs will only get to 3 inches and when that bichir gets larger, it could very well look at those barbs as a tasty snack. So, depending on their sizes right now and using the fish to water rule, you might be okay now, but you’re going to have to get a larger tank eventually. An option would be to consider getting a tank just for the bichir; about a 15-20 gallon would be perfect and then the remaining fish would fit perfectly in the 3 foot tank. The cichlids could also bully the barbs, so that would be something you would need to watch. They are territorial, so the more space you provided them, the less likely they would be to attack other fish.
