Can anyone recommend a ‘good quality parrot pellet mix’ for a Hahn’s macaw?
I’ve only had Charley (my Hahn’s) a few weeks so I’ve been doing tonnes of reading up on the internet. Most of the parrot care websites say that he should be eating a pellet mix as well as the usual fruit & veg etc but my pet shop only sells seed mix so I’m trying to find an online shop. Thank you
There are quite a few good pellet mixes on the market ,but there is nothing better than a good Seed and Fruit diet for your bird.
Pellets are not a good thing for your Hahn’s,they need the beak exercise,to keep them in good condition,all Macaws are heavy seed eaters occaisional pellets are acceptable but not on a sole food source basis.
Natural food is best ! there have been so many fatalities with pellets so keep to natures best Seed and Fruit,
Sweet corn Cobs,Kale,Broccoli,Carrots with the tops.
