Should I cover my Parakeet’s cage at night when I put them to sleep?
I have 2 parakeets whom I Let run around outside their cage most of the day. they are pretty hand tame and like me to pick them up. I put the playground in front of their cage and let them hang out most of the day. is it necessary that I cover their cage at night when i put them to sleep? if so why?
No, it is not required that you cover them at night. The reason why this is often done is that many birds tend to sing to greet the sun. That means that they may want to sing very loudly in the morning once they see the sun or bright light. Since this can result in people being awakened at literally the crack of dawn, most people cover the birds so that they cannot see the rising sun.
Its up to you whether you want or need to cover your birds.
