In bye bye birdie, how large is the part of Mrs. Merkel, and does she sing with the group or some solos?

i played the mayors wife in bye bye birdie, and its a pretty similar role. its tiny, but you can do some funny things with it. she sings with the group, but if your director does it the way mine did, you should have a small ensemble (4ish people) during “ed sullivan.” good luck! VERY fun production no matter what part!
