How should I disinfect bird perches?
I got a used bird cage for my soon to be cockatiel. Its an awesome cage and came with 5 perches. 1 is a ladder, 1 is a manzanita, 1 is wood (idk what kind) and 1 is ribbon wood. The unknown wood one has chipped bark on one end of it. The others are just really dirty. Should I throw them away and get new ones or is there a way to disinfect them? If you can disinfect them, how?
You could wash them really well then spray them with a mixture of water, lemon, and alcohol or use Lysol wipes or non toxic disinfecting spray.
