You are partly correct. Hens and cows have been domesticated for thousands upon thousands of years, and have been bred selectively to produce animals that yield more food. Though God may have created the animals originally, their development is the result of human industry. The same is true for corn – its fruit was originally hard, small and bitter. It was bred to grow fat, sweet ears over millenniums.
