does a heat lamp socket have any more electrical components than a regular light socket?
i thought that the only difference between a heat lamp socket and a regular lite socket, is that the heat lamps’ have a better insulation on the conductors feeding it. Am i right?
Most heat lamp sockets are Porcelain, while the majority of light sockets today are plastic. The ceramic socket is required to withstand the additional heat conducted into the socket.
The mechanical parts inside the sockets are substantially the same.
