Ronco food dehydrator with no top? No fan kind. Would it be safe to use a glass pot lid I have that fits?

Its an older Ronco with no fan. I want to use it dehydrate veggies and fruits.

Sure as they do not get much hotter tan 120 d F, if they did they would cook the fruits and veg before drying them, I bought my mother one and see use it for a few years, gave it up in a garage sale a few years back, wishes now she had not with the high prices of fruit and veg now.
