In To Kill a Mockingbird, Atticus Finch is generally regarded as the hero of the novel. What’s his flaw?
According to the traditional Greek definition, every hero has a flaw. What do you think is Atticus’? I was thinking something along the lines of the fact that he trust too easily. He was sure that Bob Ewell had vented out his anger after spitting in his face the day before and would not harm them, despite the warnings that Jem and Scout gave. However, he Bob lateer tried to kill them. Also, the fact that he puts his morals first, (which is a positive as well) but by doing that, places his kids in danger. What do you think about his parenting skills? Is that a flaw? Thanks!
I believe that his flaw is that he believes that good will always triumph in the end over bad or evil. He believes in the innate goodness of people and that in the end they will do what is right rather than what is popular.
