Extra Large Dog House Plans Will Help You Build An Extra Large Dog House
Having a large dog in the house can be a real challenge. Any type of mishap from chewing furniture to wetting on the floor is magnified when you have a large pet living indoors. Most of us hate the idea of the family pet living outside but if you build the right type of extra large doghouse your unruly mutt will be happy, safe and comfortable. At least most of the time!
There are a vary of different plans or blueprints for constructing an extra large dog house, different shapes, styles and materials suggested. Whatever you decide you may want to consider a set of plans that not only list all the materials you will need but that has directions on the lumber sizes and the various cuts you will need.
Investing in a good set of dog house plans designed by a professional will actually end up saving you time and money by eliminating mistakes… and your pet will be a lot happier as well.
An important consideration is that if your dog chews on furniture he will also chew on his new doghouse so you need to make sure that you do not use pressure treated wood in areas he can chew on. Pressure treated lumber may injected with dangerous chemicals to stop rot and insect damage which could be harmful to your pet!
It would be ideal to use natural wood and then seal it with a good quality primer and outdoor paint that is non toxic should your dog chew on it.
Size is an important consideration as well, too big and it will be hard to keep warm during the winter months, too small and your pet will not be comfortable.
