What causes the airconditioning/heating switch in my car to stay on economy instead of automatic?
I have a 1996 Cadillac Deville.. The air conditioner turns on and blows air outside air and the display shows econo – not automatic. I took it to a mechanic. They service the unit and put freon it ($100+) it was cold for a few minutes then back to outside air and funny screeching noise. I took it back – they said compressor was bad. They replaced compressor ($450.) . When I turned on air – same as when I took it the first time – econo (outside air) only. I it right back same day. They have now had my car 2 days and still not fixed – They told me they have checked all switches and line and everything seems fine. I don’t think they know what is wrong or how to fix it. Any suggestions – I am suppose to speak with them today.
