Xtreme Fat Loss Diet VS Combat the Fat

Disclaimer: I have purchased both programs (I purchased the Deluxe version of Combat the Fat & purchased a few of the upsells for Xtreme Fat Loss Diet) and examined each one. I do make a commission if you purchase either program from the links in this article (and I make it worth your while – details below). I have tried to be as accurate and unbiased in my statements below, but I admit I may be slightly biased.

The Biggest Difference Between the 2 Programs:

Combat the Fat is about making lifestyle changes. It’s designed to help you lose 2-4lbs/week, build muscle & stay in great shape. Xtreme Fat Loss Diet is a diet. A 25 day program designed to help you lose 1lb/day, but you can’t stay on it for more than a month because it’s not healthy. It’s also really intense, so it’s difficult to stick with.

Now hearing that you might wonder why I’m even comparing them as they are such different programs and the truth is, they are completely different. And both are effective and live up to their claims. However, if you are interested in either, you should know exactly what your goals are and know which one is better for you.

The Best Thing About Combat the Fat:

I would have to say the best part of Combat the Fat is that it is a lifestyle change. Once you’ve changed how you live, it’s with you for life. You can follow the program over and over again, trying the more and more advanced workouts as you go along or just staying with the same ones once you’re in a shape you simply want to maintain.

This makes Combat the Fat an investment in your life. The younger you are, the more valuable the investment. Rather than going on a diet and then not knowing what to do once the diet is over, you just stick with it as long as you want (probably forever).

The Best Thing About Xtreme Fat Loss Diet:

The best part is definitely the speed at which you lose weight. There is definitely the potential to lose 1lb/day (some people even lose more) and it’s actually still healthy and doesn’t negatively affect your body (unless you continue the diet for longer than it’s designed).

If you need to lose weight quickly for a wedding, high school reunion, job interview, or just because you’re tired of the way you look – you can get rid of a lot of fat in a very short period of time.

The Worst Thing About Combat the Fat:

The worst part of Combat the Fat is from what I’ve seen there have never been any updates. He has a membership where you can get more stuff, but if you want more information, you’ll have to pay for it. There is a TON of amazing information in there, and many people will never need any more.

Truth is a lot of programs don’t have updates (only one I know of actually has “regular” updates & additions), but that can make the difference for some people. Of course, Combat the Fat starts off with over 200 pages of content, so it’s not like you need any more – I just personally like to keep learning new things, which usually ends up in me getting every single program on the market.

Other Comments on Combat the Fat:

With Combat the Fat you still have the ability to lose weight at a fairly good pace – 2-4lbs/week is not slow – and it’s got a lot more information that will apply to your daily life. For overall health, I think you’ll find it’s much more beneficial than the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, which is a great diet, but the information is really only effective for the diet. Plus Combat the Fat is much less expensive ($50 less at the time of this writing).

The Worst Thing About Xtreme Fat Loss Diet:

Before I say this let me get this out there: I hate being negative and I try to be positive as much as possible. But I gotta say there is one thing about Joel that kind of annoys me sometimes – he’s not always completely open up front. His stuff works, but I found it deceptive when I discovered after purchasing XFLD that you need BCAA supplements as well as other recommended supplements in order to get the results he promises.

He claims that it’s cheaper than buying the groceries you’d be consuming instead of them, but I’ve checked my grocery bills and the supplements cost almost as much as I pay for groceries in a month (and they are ON TOP of the food – though slightly less food than you normally would have).

I am a frugal shopper and I buy fairly cheap groceries, so the math didn’t add up for me and I don’t know how many other people that may be true for as well. I was disappointed to find out that the supplements are actually a huge part of the program and if I didn’t want to spring for the supplements (especially not the S&H to Canada), I couldn’t get the results promised.

Other Comments on Xtreme Fat Loss Diet:

Another thing I didn’t really like about the program is you had to pay extra for the bodyweight exercises (at least you did when I bought the program). I don’t have a gym membership and I never have (except the one included in my university fees), and I do all my workouts at home with very little to no equipment other than things I have around the house.

So to find out that I had to pay more to get workouts that I could actually do kind of bothered me. The overall cost of the program is higher than other programs in the first place, so that was kind of disappointing for me.

Plus there’s other upsells that make the program a lot easier to follow that you gotta pay even more for. I know Joel’s gotta pay the bills, but come on! It’s a diet. You can only use it for 25 days every couple months.

Now, despite a few negative feelings towards the product, if you’re willing to put in the effort (and money) and follow the program the way it’s laid out, you will get AMAZING results in very little time. So it may be worth it to spring for the program so you can get in shape fast.

One last comment on the program – he recommends you follow it once, then move onto a more “lifestyle” approach program for a few months before doing the diet again. He obviously recommends his own Cheat Your Way Thin program. If you’re looking into CYWT, then I advise you check out my Combat the Fat VS Cheat Your Way Thin article.

In Summation:

For some reason I feel smart when I say “in summation”. Anyways, here’s a quick list of the pros & cons of each program:

Combat the Fat:

Pros

  • Lifestyle changes help you stay in shape for life

  • Can use the program over and over again to get & stay in great shape

  • Inexpensive upfront cost and no costs on the backend (in fact, you may even save money once you start eating better because you’ll probably be buying less “junk” that costs a lot of money)

Cons

  • No updates

  • Not as fast as some people may like

Xtreme Fat Loss Diet:

Pros

  • Insanely fast fat loss

  • Lose weight quickly while remaining healthy

Cons

  • Higher upfront cost

  • Costs extra for some parts of the program that are included in other programs

  • Supplements are necessary to get the results (and if you live outside of the USA it’s generally expensive to get them)

  • A LOT harder to follow (you have got to be seriously dedicated to stick with it)

You’re now left with 2 choices:

  1. Grab either Combat the Fat or Xtreme Fat Loss Diet and start following the programs – which generally ends up in you getting in awesome shape.

  2. Do nothing and stay the way you are right now. And if you’re reading this I doubt you’re happy with the way things are right now.

*Message from your conscience: Pick choice #1!

Ok, so really I’d prefer if you picked choice numero uno so I’m going to give you a little help:

BONUS IF YOU CHOOSE CHOICE #1:

If you haven’t seen it already, I’ll give you 4 super awesome (in my opinion, of course) bonuses to help you maximize your results. Details available at Combat the Fat bonus offer.
