Cockatiels and Green Cheeks are similar in the size of eggs, clutches as well as incubation period. The real question is if you are breeding to sell, what is your target market? Green Cheeks are much more common than 3-5 years ago and the market for them is just as saturated as the one for cockatiels. Something else to note is the fact that a cockatiel makes a wonderful first time bird. Green Cheeks, although small, possess more of a “big parrot” personality. Their post-weaning nippiness can turn some off and intimidate many.
Another thing to consider is that Cockatiels are more easily housed as a flock than the Green Cheeks.
