QMQS2 Color Concentrate – For Easy Manufacture Of Custom Colored Plastics
It is not uncommon for end-product manufacturers to seek a supply of custom colored plastic. However, fulfilling such an order is not only extremely time consuming but also quite frustrating and expensive for the plastic supplier. This is mainly due to the fact that for completing such an order, the plastic suppliers need to stop all production and clean out the machine before they can start the special production of the custom colored plastic. This is also a major reason for custom colored plastics being considerably expensive than the other plastics. However, thanks to the availability of QMQS2 color concentrate, end-product manufacturers can now produce custom colored plastics at their own end.
Given the complexities involved in producing custom colored plastics, it is quite understandable that plastic suppliers rarely entertain orders for small quantities, making it even more difficult for end-product manufacturers to obtain the colored plastic. However, QMQS2 category of color concentrate helps end-product manufacturers in overcoming even this difficulty. It enables these manufacturers to produce the required quantity of custom colored plastic by dry blending the neat natural resins with the color concentrate recognized for use with that resin, within the limits of the available maximum let-down ratio. The manufacturers are free to order sufficient quantity of neat natural resins as well as the color concentrate that has been approved for use with that resin and produce custom colored plastics sufficient for their needs.
The process not only proves to be cost–effective for the plastic product manufacturers but also offers flexibility in obtaining only the required quantity of such resins. However, it is important to have an understanding of the use of the right color concentrate with specific base resins and might involve the presentation of standardized test samples. These samples generally, consist of the color concentrate let-down into the specific base resin and are tested to ensure that the use of color concentrate does not in any manner effect the flame rating of the base resin. In case of HB-rated base resins, the testing involves the use of color concentrate let-down on HB-rated base resins only so as to verify whether they are safe for use on all types of resins belonging to this specific generic type.
