im not sure if my leopard gecko is impacted btw i use coconut fiber?
well i just got a leopard gecko 3 days ago the first two days were great it ate one ADULT cricket which was a huggggeee mistake i now understand that u need to feed it baby crickets:/ i use coconut fiber and have heard good things about it and that it doesnt cause impaction i am about to switch to reptile carpet though until it is big enough i just need tips at how to know if its impacted because i really want to treat it if it actually is…..
can i also get a picture of a healthy leopard gecko tummy:)?
Coconut fiber can cause impaction. It will also be to humid for leopard geckos. You need to switch to a different substrate.
For impaction generally their stomach will be hard and lumpy feeling. They will not be going to the restroom and may not eat or will regurgitate their food. To treat it you’ll need to go to a vet to diagnose it but you can soak them in warm (not hot) water for 15 or so minutes. A couple drops of vegetable oil may also help.
