Should i get a cockatiel or a parakeet?
I want i bird to play with (held, sit on finger, &crawl around on me). My friend has a parakeet that’s awesome. My other friend has a cockatiel that is great too. Some people say that cockatiels are mean. And others say that cockatiels aren’t mean and are better then parakeets.
Which one should i get?
Both species are great. They will both bond with you if you work at it. They are both playful and when tamed they will sit on you and much more.
Having a budgie and a cockatiel. l can tell you what l see with my birds.
l find my current budgie to be not as playful but my previous budgies where playful. budgies are independent so they tend not to be as cuddly as tiels are. They will happily sit with you but sometimes will not sty on for long.
My cockatiel is more laid back and is very playful, l will warn you that they love to destroy toys. the same for budgies, especially females, they like to chew.
There are pros and cons with both species.l’m sure which ever you choose. You will be happy with your choice.
