How much salad should I give my finches and cockatiels?
Yes, they live in seperate cages. I have three finches and three cockatiels, so how much salad per bird in the cage? They get unlimited pellets and I want to put some seeds ontop of their salad. How can I have them still eating the pellets after they get their salad?
I would give them their regular pellets every day and take one piece of lettuce per bird and hang it in the wires of the cage. (i say that only because i had been feeding my birds greens for weeks and they wouldn’t touch them until i hung a piece through the bars, then they spent hours “preening” the lettuce and now they love their greens). Just be sure you take it out after a few hours so it doesn’t spoil.
