Why does my female parakeet sit at the bottom of the cage for awhile then climb back up and sit on the perch?
This may be because she is feeling unwell, she could feel as though she doesn’t have the strength to ‘perch’. If she seems well then it could just be something she is interested in something on the bottom of the cage, for instance many cage liners have grit on them for the bird to scrap at, maybe she just wants to have a scratch with her feet.
