Checking Names Off Of Your Christmas List

With Christmas just around the corner, you have got to be thinking about how to make this Christmas the best one yet for you and your family. Finding the best gifts for all the members of your family means more than just getting something big, it means getting something that they will truly love and cherish. I can give you some great ideas for what to stick around your tree this year.

A new trend that is catching on is getting one larger gift the whole family can enjoy and appreciate together rather than sprinkling smaller gifts this way or that. Some family oriented gifts are usually televisions. If you are opting for this route instead of a multitude of individual gifts, you might be able to get that 50 inch plasma screen your living room has just been begging you for.

What better to go with a new big screen than a gaming system to really bring the family together for an evening? There are three major systems to choose from and all of them have their advantages. The PS3 and the XBox 360 both have great graphics and games, but nothing is more family oriented and friendly than the Wii.

If you already have a Wii, or have decided to get one, you can then buy Nintendo games. Games like Wii Fit and EA Active will help you tone muscle quickly and slim down after all the holiday meals. There are so many games to choose from that will be able to get all your family having fun and hanging out. The best part is that most Wii games are very user friendly, so anyone can play with little direction.

For the smaller children on your list, you should look into the latest craze. Zhu Zhu Pets are this year’s Cabbage Patch Dolls or Furbees. They simulate a pet hamster without the mess and responsibility of owning a real one. They act like a real hamster and react to the owner and their environment in life like ways. They retail at around $10, but with most places being out of stock with them, you are likely to pay a little more to get your hands on one this holiday season.

If you just cannot seem to put a finger on that member of your extended family, but have a rough idea of what he or she might be into, you can always get a gift card to a relative store. This shows a little more initiative than a simple monetary gift; by at the very least showing them that you take some interest in what interests them. Most major chain stores, even specialty ones, offer gift cards that are easily acquired online.

This should be enough to get you started with your gift giving this year. Surely there are many things that you can do to show that someone on your list that you care, but this is just the beginning.
