How do i tame my budgie bird?
i got a budgie bird two days ago and now i want to tame it. she doesnt bite and she lets me touch her belly but i want to know how to tame her so i can pick her up and let her go on my shoulder. thanks
Your bird already sounds friendly and lets you touch her belly, so the next step is to get her onto your finger. Place you finger against her tummy, and she she might just step right up. Talk to her and tell her “step up.” Once you have her comfortable on your finger, you can get her to come out of her cage. Placing treats outside the cage usually will get your budgie to come out and eat. Make sure you have your budgie’s wings clipped so there are no mishaps, such as injuries or a lost bird. Have some toys out for her to play with, so she’ll be occupied outside of the cage. To get her to stay on your shoulder and not fly off, offer her some millet or her other favorite treats.
