Love birds laid eggs…?
this is odd, i have two black masked lovebirds, they look just like these…http://www.birdcare.com.au/lovebird%20images/masked%20lovebird%20pic.jpg
anyways, this is he second time they laid eggs. last time, they laid about 15 eggs and they never hatched! why is this? I’m pretty sure one is male and the other female, i see them expressing their love
all the time if you know what i mean! can anyone help? Thanks!
It is possible that you have two females, if they laid all those eggs at the same time?
A lovebird normally lays 4-6 eggs then will brood them , but if yours laid 15 in the same nest then that points to 2 females.
Next Have you seen them mate?if so , then the male is more than likely not quite fit to fertilize the eggs .
They need a good seed diet along with green veg, and some fruit.Broccoli , Sweet Corn Cob, Apple , pear.soaked sprouting seed etc, these are good conditioners, the only one(among many) thing that also is the cause of infertile eggs is if the hen lays when moulting.
