Bird Spray

Bird Spray
Can I used a caged bird spray for anti-mites on my pet fancy mouse? Please help!?

It is ultra care mite & lice bird spray the ingredients are pyrethins – 0.03%
Piperonyl butoxide, technical* – 0.30% which is equal to 0.240% (butylcarbity) (6-propylpiperonyl) ether and 0.06% related compounds.

This is used on cagegd birds to kill mice and lice, will it be safe to use on my pet fancy mouse around 6 months old or more for his mite infestation. I heard it was but i want to make sure, do I need to do anything to it?

I haven’t been able to get any anti-mite spray for a small rodent and people have said using the caged bird spray for mites is okay to use on your pet mouse. I’m worried to use it and was wondering if anyone has used it on their mouse before or heard of it? Someone said to use ivermectin but I read that can be really harmful and kill the mouse if you don’t give the exact right amount for a dose for a mouse. Please help!!! I hate to see him suffer like this =(
I meant to kill MITES AND LICE not mice!!!!

After years of owning rodents and knowing other rodent owners, I have yet to see someone kill their mouse or rat with a tiny bit of ivermectin. You have more chance of killing the mouse with an over the counter spray containing Pyrethins..which is a poison.

What WILL kill your mouse is blood loss from mites.

If you don’t feel safe buying ivermectin as I suggested before, take him to the vet and have them give him the injectible kind.
