When switching types of bird seed, does the change need to be gradual like when switching to pellets?
I am moving and my regular birdseed will no longer be available to me. I have been trying to switch my two budgies to pellets but it is going to take a while and I do not want to be making big dietary changes while they have the stress of moving. If I switch to a new bird seed will they automatically eat the new seed or do I need to gradually adjust them like you do with pellets?
Change in type of seed given is not likely to make a big difference, birds take to seed with ease;all the same any change in diet should be gradual whenever possible.Suggest you take a small supply along with you when you move,it will make it easy to phase over.
