Which is better? The aviater harness or a flightsuit?
I have 2 cockatiels.I want to take them outside without worrying about them getting on roofs and have to climb up and get them.i would like to know which one is better (and cheaper) because i plan to get 2.which 1 is safer for the bird?and if they never get used to it, can i send it back?
but with the flight suit, doesnt it have only velcro to strap it on?
I own both of these harnesses, and can confirm that they both seem fully safe as promised by the manufactures. BUT… My birds seriously hate them, and it’s a bite-fest to get either one on them! Once it’s on, they fall over sideways like a board all dramatically, and try to get me to take it off… But I think with some patience they could get used to them.
The flight suit is more intrusive because it catches the poop, but it also seems more comfortable because of the material. It’s thinner, lighter, softer, less bulky. Unless you have a huge cockatoo who is going to rip through the material, I would recommend the flight suit, just for the comfort of the bird.
You most likely cannot return either of these, even if the birds hate them. Your best bet would be to try to sell them used on ebay or something after they’ve been bleached/disinfected… come to think of it, you could try to find some used ones this way!
I hope this helps!
Does the bird’s flight suit really work?
